Job Description - Field Superintendent

This position is responsible for the Supervision of a Full Service Field Operation for an established General Building Contractor specializing in Retail, Medical, Corporate Custom Interior, Tenant Improvement, and Renovation work. Job Requirements

Duties/Responsibilities are as follows, but not limited to the following:
• Running all on-site construction activities. Managing all construction site personnel from project initialization and kick-off through final project completion and turn-over.
• Include maintaining the highest level of quality and construction practices on the jobsite.
• May include multiple project compliance and supervision at one given period.
• Include on-site safety management and disciplinary activities. Must have strong knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and uphold safety program standards, including but not limited to Life Safety Code requirements for All Municipalities, including State and Local requirements.
• Require strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Must have excellent work ethics and the ability to prioritize work assignments.
• Requires attention to detail and ability to acquire the same from all team members.
• Require excellent problem solving abilities.
• Require strong understanding and experience with means and methods for all construction types.
• Must have excellent ability to anticipate and be proactive to minimize conflicts, problem field conditions and errors and omission issue on drawings and specifications.
• Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, MS Word, Outlook, MS Project and an excellent ability to learn new software.
• Excellent multi-tasking skills. Excellent inter-personnel and negotiation skills.
• Excellent understanding of Architectural and Contract Documentation. Understanding of commercial code requirements, i.e., ADA, etc. LEEDs Certification a plus.
• Manage Subcontractor relationships during pre-construction period.
• Manage and handle Inspector relationships throughout all construction period.
• Prepare and develop the “turn-over” package to the Project Managers, to include but not limited to maintaining the field construction documents, obtaining all sign-offs from the inspectors, obtaining all copies of warranties and maintenance manuals.
• Keeping and distributing in a timely manner a detailed daily field report. Creating and distributing in a timely manner a detailed weekly and 3-week field status report and schedule. Issuing and maintaining all field construction/contract documents on site. Develop and manage project related schedule along with the Project Managers.
• Assisting Project Managers on providing infield take-offs and site verifications as required.
• Responsible for timely, accurate, and thorough review of project related documentations.
• Responsible for minimizing and eliminating company risk by managing and maintaining the highest standards of practice.

Additional Requirements:
• Expected to perform all assigned tasks with little to no direct supervision. 
• Ability to recognize and initiate efficiency improvements.
• Perform other activities as directed by Ownership and Management.
• Working directly with the Senior Management and Principals of the company to establish long and short-term goals.


Education/Experience:
• Requires or equivalent to a BS/BA degree or related experience of 5+ years.
• Experience working in an Architectural and Construction office environment is a plus.
